Bio

Dr. D. Michele Ellis received her PhD in nursing with a focus on nursing education in 2013 from the University of Northern Colorado. She received her MS degree in nursing education from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2004, and began teaching shortly thereafter. Dr. Ellis has taught across all levels of nursing education. She has 20+ years of experience in telemetry, medical-surgical, psychiatric and home health nursing.

As a nurse educator, Dr. Ellis works within the community, organizing nursing-book drives for an African charity, and by maintaining membership in the Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center Nursing Research Council; American Nurses Association and the Rho Zeta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. Her program of research concerns all aspects of nursing education.
